In Essex we are fortunate to have an In Car Safety Centre where you can get free expert advice on buying correct car seat for your car and be shown how to fit the seat correctly. The centre holds a wide selection of seats for you to test in your car and saves you time and money buy avoiding buying a seat which is unsuitable. People travel from far and wide to visit the centre so why not take advantage of having one here in Essex.

In addition to this centre, Essex County Council Provides a Try Before You Buy service which is mobile and travels around the Brentwood Area. Again you can get advice on your options and fitting with a smaller selection of seats.
Try Before You Buy Dates.
Did you know that the Government advice to turn your child forward facing in the car at 9 months is at odds with other European Countries who have found it is a risk to let children travel forward facing until they are 4 years old? Rear facing seats are 5 times safer in a collision. They are manufactured here in the UK and exported to Scandinavia. The In Car Safety Centre now stocks rear facing seats for babies and children up to 4 years, and the below website can tell you where to purchase them:
